Child Among Strangers

When young Henry Thorn is kidnapped from his home and taken to a remote farm in the middle of the woods, the boy unexpectedly establishes a connection with a strange force living in the thicket—and uses it to deal with his captors. But he does not yet know that this ancient being has its own reasons to get rid of unwanted guests, for beneath the house, in a dark, damp basement, lies what the monster desperately needs. And thus blood will be shed, and the monster, studying humans with Henry's help, will stop at nothing.
