Fox Charms

Pu Songling became famous for his books about fox spirits, sorcerers and ghosts, strange animals, cursed mirrors, talking birds, living paintings, and much more, becoming the most well-known Chinese writer of his time. The basis for his creativity were folk tales, but over time, the author's stories themselves turned into folklore and were passed from mouth to mouth by simple storytellers.
