Pu Songling became famous for his books about fox spirits, sorcerers and ghosts, strange animals, cursed mirrors, talking birds, living paintings, and much more, becoming the most well-known Chinese writer of his time. The basis for his creativity were folk tales, but over time, the author's stories themselves turned into folklore and were passed from mouth to mouth by simple storytellers.
The miniature prose of Pu Songling is filled with emotions, passions, fears, and both direct and hidden teachings.
This edition publishes the stories of Pu Songling about magical foxes, cunning and wise rogues who come to people to confuse, entangle, and sometimes help in difficult situations.
