Gulliver's Travels

We first become acquainted with this story in childhood in a heavily abridged version, adapted for young readers, but this edition offers a full and by no means childish version.
By the will of fate, ship's doctor Lemuel Gulliver finds himself on a vessel that meets with disaster. Thus begins the hero's sixteen-year journey: from Lilliput to the land of horses with the mind of a man — the Houyhnhnms. Swift, through a fantastic plot, gentle irony, and sometimes poisonous sarcasm, ridicules human vices and exposes the social sores of society.
