The Stainless Steel Rat

The cycle by Harry Harrison about Jim di Griz, nicknamed the Stainless Steel Rat, is rightly considered one of the best in the works of the renowned science fiction writer. The hero of the cycle, a great rogue and con man, knows how to come out unscathed from virtually any situation, no matter how hopeless it may seem at first, — and in any corner of the Galaxy, wherever fate throws him. But to transform from a rough-and-tumble guy from a godforsaken planet into a superhero capable of anything, one must go through a thousand and one trials. Serving in the army with its thoughtless drills and marching, participating in interstellar battles, getting into the skin of a terrifying alien monster, or trying his luck on a planet where criminals are exiled for an alien artifact... Is everyone capable of this? No, of course not! Only the Stainless Steel Rat, Jim di Griz, a man of stainless steel.
The book includes the first six novels of the cycle.
