Shelter. Book 1. Illusion

Post-apocalyptic world. People live in an enormous artificial bunker-shelter. From generation to generation. The exit to the surface is deadly dangerous. "Volunteers" who occasionally go out for cleaning, that is, to wipe the lenses of external surveillance cameras, die shortly after. Life in the shelter is strictly regulated. Caste system. If you are a porter, then no one else has the right to carry loads from level to level. If you work on the generator that supplies energy to all levels, you cannot do anything else. Let alone the IT sector, the sanctum sanctorum of the system, the main supplier of information about the outside world. However, no one knows how truthful the information provided by the sector really is, and the IT staff does not allow outsiders into their domain… In May 2023, the premiere of the first season of the TV series "Shelter" based on the novel by Howie (directed by Adam Bernstein and Morten Tyldum, screenplay by Graham Yost) took place. The series enjoyed immense popularity, received high ratings, and has already been renewed for a second and third season.
