Sense and Sensibility

A whole gallery of vibrant images of the contemporaries of the classic English literature writer Jane Austen — noble and treacherous, reckless and cowardly, prim and tender — appears on the pages of her works. Austen's first mature novel, "Sense... and Sensibility," tells the story of two sisters, sensible Elinor and passionate Marianne. The girls see the world differently: one listens to the voice of her heart, the other acts as reason dictates. Each of them struggles for the chance to marry their beloved against all odds. After all, both desperately want the same thing — love and happiness. The book has been adapted for film multiple times. Ang Lee's movie "Sense and Sensibility" starring Emma Thompson, Kate Winslet, and Hugh Grant in the lead roles won numerous international film awards, including an "Oscar."
