Sense and Sensibility

A whole gallery of vivid images of contemporaries of the classic English literature writer Jane Austen – noble and deceitful, reckless and cowardly, prim and tender – appears on the pages of her works. Austen's first mature novel "Sense and... Sensibility" is about the fates of two sisters, prudent Elinor and passionate Marianne. The girls see the world differently: one listens to the voice of her heart, while the other acts as reason dictates. Each of them fights for the chance to marry the one they love against all odds. After all, both desperately want the same thing – love and happiness. The book has been adapted into film multiple times. Ang Lee's film "Sense and Sensibility" starring Emma Thompson, Kate Winslet, and Hugh Grant in leading roles has won numerous international film awards, including the Oscar.
