The Rescuer

The story of how unrestrained greed leads to the death of hundreds of people.

An earthquake occurred in a southern Russian city. According to the official version, the epicenter supposedly struck the newest residential complex 'Heavens', although the strongest tremors were... felt by residents in other parts of the city. But everything there survived, while in 'Heavens', all the buildings were completely destroyed. A huge number of casualties and injuries. When the first tremors began, lawyer Artem Pavlov, by misfortune (or perhaps by fortune?), was conducting an inspection of the social program's implementation specifically in this area. Finding himself among the ruins, he immediately joined the rescue efforts along with EMERCOM doctor Veronica, her friend Violinist, and volunteers.
What a surprise it was when Pavlov pulled out from under the rubble a nearly naked man, who turned out to be... the mayor of the city. He did not live in the house that collapsed. A vehicle with an escort soon arrived for the official, and the police quickly cordoned off the debris. At the mayor's demand, the rescuers began to search for something. No, not people, but some very valuable item…
