Oblomov

In his novel, Ivan Goncharov (1812—1891) created an image of the Russian person that became iconic. The concept of "Oblomovshchina" is familiar to us all, but the hero of the novel is quite ambiguous. The "golden heart" and "pure nature" lose love and forget about a career due to laziness and fear of change, but remain quite happy. This story makes us think about the meaning of existence, the futility of a vain lifestyle, where there is no opportunity to stop and ask: "And why all this?"
