Russian writers have always demonstrated through their works that one does not need to seek out other universes for plot and characters: it is necessary to look closely at the place where you live and then accurately describe what you see. Then it will be gladly read and staged in theaters in any country and in any century. This is what has been happening with Ostrovsky's plays for over 160 years. Because while technologies, social structures, and ways of life may change, the human being, who answers eternal questions of existence, remains quite inert. It is called eternal questions because the answers to them will not be found anytime soon. But it is worth trying.
