But on the night when a cruel owner of the Zoo threatens the safety of her loved ones, Coffey unleashes a power she does not fully understand, and the consequences are dire.
As the second son of a celebrated hero, Ekon is destined to become the Son of Six — an elite warrior — and uphold the family legacy. But on the night of his final initiation ritual, fire shatters his plans. Among them, Ekon encounters not only Shetani — a malevolent monster that has haunted the city and its nightmares for nearly a century — but also a curious girl who seems capable of driving the beast away. Coffey's power ultimately saves Ekon's life, but his decision to let her escape robs him of hope to become a warrior.
Desperate to atone for his guilt, Ekon vows to track down Shetani and put an end to his reign of terror, but he cannot do it alone. Meanwhile, Coffey believes that capturing Shetani and selling him for profit could be the key to solving her own problems. Coffey and Ekon, each hiding their true motives from the other, form a tentative alliance and venture into the uncharted Great Jungle, a realm steeped in wild magic and countless dangers.
