Ivan Savvich Nikitin 1824 – 1861 – a famous self-taught Russian poet of the 19th century, a master of the Russian poetic landscape, a book trader. As a poet from the people, he wrote extensively about the hardships of the lives of ordinary people: plowmen, tailors, kulaks, and plowmen. His poems are so vivid and melodic that more than sixty romances and folk songs have been written based on them over the years. This collection includes all of his most famous works, which invariably teach to appreciate nature, love the homeland, and be responsive to the needs of people.
