More than anything in the world, Joel dreams of becoming a rhymaist. Why? Because rhymaists have the ability to bring two-dimensional figures drawn in chalk to life. Also, because rhymaists are humanity's last hope in the fight against wild mellings,... which threaten to break through the defenses and destroy all living things. However, not all dreams are destined to come true. The son of the chalk craftsman did not manage to become a rhymaist. And now Joel can only watch with longing as the students of the Armidius Academy practice the magical art for which he is willing to do anything, day after day.
