In the Absence of Authority

In 1913, Alexey Lykov, by the will of fate, finds himself in the city of Smolensk, where he is to not only save a friend and colleague - Collegiate Assessor Azvestopulo - from the punishing sword of justice but also to uncover a secret network of Austrian sabotage bases and expose Polish spies. The real criminals ended up behind bars, and Lykov and the freed Azvestopulo were able to join in the celebration of the three-hundredth anniversary of the Romanov house and return to their usual service.
