Conraude, a retired police officer, inadvertently becomes embroiled in old unsolved murder cases when he is contacted by an elderly couple regarding the disappearance of their granddaughter, Dannie. Meanwhile, Conraude investigates the case of his father, who was killed under... mysterious circumstances. He comes into contact with the daughter of a close friend of his father's, Eighlow, who turns out to be a medium. She is haunted by visions of a little girl, Nanna, who drowned in Lake Tyodnin several decades ago. Conraude becomes interested in the fates of the girls, and it is during the search for Dannie that he realizes there is a strange connection between their deaths.
