Dad and Son. Stories in Pictures

Humorous "drawn pantomimes" from the life of a chubby bald dad and his mischievous curly-haired son are the most famous works of the German caricaturist Erich Ohser (1903—1944), who worked under the pseudonym E. O. Plauen. They first appeared in 1934 in the pages of the Berlin newspaper Berliner Illustrirte Zeitung and were published there until 1937. Since then, for almost 90 years, these stories in pictures have been published worldwide. They have long become classics of the genre, and more than one generation of children has grown up on them.
