To Have or to Be?

In his famous work "To Have or to Be?" Erich Fromm vividly demonstrates the consequences of relationships formed on the principle of "You owe me, I owe you" and attempts to answer the question that ultimately arises for everyone: what is more important – possessing material cultural objects or true, meaningful existence, where a person truly lives each moment of their life, being aware of it and enjoying it in all its fullness?
