The clash between the principles of humanity and the views of wealthy individuals who believe that the entire world exists only for their service becomes the basis of the conflict, and the theft of Arto's friend turns boy Seryozha into a true fighter for justice. Alexander Kuprin loved animals very much; many of them lived with him and became prototypes for the heroes of his literary works. The animals in Kuprin's works possess the best qualities.
