Wanderings

Yuri Mamleev is a recognized master of Russian literature, the creator of the genre of metaphysical realism. His "Shatunov", "Moscow Gambit", and "World and Laughter" have become classics. He passed away in 2015, but the novel "Wanderings", belonging to the... later period of his work, is published for the first time. And it is a completely different, unfamiliar Mamleev for the reader: explicitly realistic, writing according to the laws of autofiction.
"Wanderings" is about the forced emigration of the writer and his wife to the USA, the search for work and their place in a new life, old acquaintances in new circumstances - and a constantly growing sense of entropy despite external well-being.
Together with the cycle of "American Stories", this novel allows understanding the artistic world of the writer during his life in the USA.
