The heroine of the novel, Maya, finds herself in a difficult situation: someone has discovered the truth she has carefully hidden. Of course, there are those who have long known that Maya has a love on the side, indeed love, not a cheap temporary affair, yet to suspect friends of uncleanliness seems foolish.
Maya begins to be tormented by messages that contain clear threats that her husband will find out the truth about her. And of course, for her silence, the blackmailer demands a rather round sum. Maya decides to give the money. And that was her mistake because the blackmailer signals that he is not interested in money; he has another goal… And extortion is just entertainment.
