August and Jones

The family of eleven-year-old Jones Kirby is forced to leave the farm and move to Sydney. The girl misses her alpacas and cannot get used to the tiny city apartment. It seems her vision is deteriorating; she already lost an... eye to cancer in childhood. Could it be another tumor? But Jones has a strong character and is ready for challenges. In her new school, Jones meets shy August. He loves books and remembers many amazing facts, and he also enjoys knitting. However, August does not like football, which is a big problem because his father, a coach, dreams of making him a great football player. August and Jones are very different, yet they became friends.
