At the beginning of the 20th century, in the Swedish village of Hammerdal, a girl named Bertha was born. More than anything, she loves to draw and dreams of becoming an artist. But she has to help with the household, especially when her sick mother gets worse. Bertha is in despair. Are her dreams destined to come true?
