The famous brothers Vainer, authors of the cult book "The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed", sometimes wrote individually—and not at all worse! The novel "The Paradise Garden of the Devil" (2003) by Georgiy Vainer tells about police life in the 1990s. Sergey Ordinarytsev, known to the reader from the book "Multiplying Sadness", recalls the time when he headed the special department "Division" and lost one of his employees on a mission—Valery Larionov. And a long chase began, unraveling a complex knot of connections, interests, the search for criminals of all kinds from various corners of the world and layers of society—from the very top to the darkest depths... The book also includes a small story "The Demon in the Rib" (1989)—a tale about love, albeit with the traditional "criminal" plot typical of the Vainers.
