What can a person do to protect those they love? Cyprus — the pearl of the Mediterranean Sea. Famagusta — the most beautiful city on the island, where tourists from all over the world flock… Aphrodite and her husband Savvas... open the most luxurious hotel in Famagusta, “Sunrise,” where Greeks and Turks work peacefully together. Escaping from interethnic hostility, two families — the Greek Georgiou and the Turkish Oezkan — move to Famagusta. Their homes are located nearby, and the families quickly find common ground. However, beneath the external sheen of a peaceful life in the city, tension is palpable. Under the pretext of protecting Turkish Cypriots, Turkish troops invade the island, plunging the country into chaos. In horror, almost all residents leave Famagusta, and only two families — Georgiou and Oezkan — remain in the devastated and looted city, finding refuge in the abandoned hotel “Sunrise.” Struggling to survive in inhumane conditions, they battle hunger, fear, and their own prejudices…
