Clockwork Orange

Anthony Burgess is an English writer and literary scholar, known for his psychological dystopian novel Clockwork Orange. In his disturbing version of the future, hardened criminals begin to dominate as darkness falls. The story is told from the perspective of the main character Alex – a teenager who speaks in a strange slang that vividly conveys the disdain he and his friends have for the society in which they live. Shocking and beyond the ordinary, Clockwork Orange is a tale of good and evil, as well as the true meaning of human freedom. For the convenience of the reader, the text is accompanied by comments and a glossary. It is intended for levels B1 and B2.
