Vera Vasilievna Chaplina 1908-1994 - a children's writer-animalist, author of scripts for several feature and animated films. Her life and work were closely connected with the animal world and the Moscow Zoo. It was Vera Chaplina who came up with and organized the famous nursery area, which still exists today. Here, young animals of completely different species that were abandoned by their parents coexisted in one territory. The writer not only independently fed the cubs and took care of them in various ways, but also observed them, kept diary entries, and wrote stories about her wards for children.
