Life

France 1819. Young Jeanne, raised in a monastery, dreams of happiness. She is supposed to go with her parents to their castle by the sea, where she will spend the entire summer and perhaps there, on the coast, she will meet the one destined for her by fate. Her parents will bless the marriage, and as a dowry, they will gift Jeanne that very castle, where her serene family life will begin. But, alas, real life is little like the rainbow dreams of an inexperienced girl. The tragic mismatch of expectations with reality is addressed in one of the most famous novels by the classic of French literature, Guy de Maupassant.
