Timofey: Notebook/Irka: Sketchbook

Timofey has a younger brother, and Irka has an older sister. Timofey writes in a notebook, while Irka draws in a sketchbook. They are strangers, their stories are different, but both feel equally lonely in a family where there is... someone loving and close. This is a two-sided book, with each side telling the story of one of the characters.
What does a person do when they are left alone? A brother, a sister, parents, school – a person is never truly alone. Timofey is the older brother, and he has no time to think. There are people around, those with whom you were born, who study with you... But what if you find yourself completely alone and the phone doesn't work? What to do with this time? Maybe start writing? But what to write?
Irka has it easier, she is the youngest. When there is an older brother nearby, such a brother! – everything isn't so complicated, and generally, this life is called "happy childhood," there’s no need to complain. But does she matter to her brother and other people now, and anyway... who is she? It seems she can draw... although compared to Pashka or her classmate Tanya, she can't draw at all. And then... what to draw?
Nina Dashevskaya is a laureate of the "Kniguru," "New Children's Book" competitions, and the Krapivin Prize, a musician and teacher. Her stories are loved for their subtlety of feelings, tender irony, and deep understanding of adolescent psychology.
