If one winter day you meet a cart driven by a talkative skeleton, do not give in to its persuasion to take you to the city. And if you do decide, prepare yourself: the skeleton, by the way, is named Bartholomeus, will tell you many extremely interesting stories, but will also demand a horrifying price. These stories will be about the bloody confrontation of two worlds, about sinister rat-people devouring entire villages, about real monsters and truly terrifying rituals that allow passage through the boundary between universes. He will also tell of those who fight in this war: of the holy Taush, who grants a person true life after death and guards the passages between worlds, of the architect Ulrike, who knows how to build bridges between spaces, of the sinister man with the head of a horse, and of those who are ready to give their own life and death for the victory of their native world, for life is relative, and death is not final. All these fates, worlds, and legends will converge in the final battle near the city of Alrauna, and not everyone will survive this clash.
