Death and the Magician

In 1930s London, the famous psychiatrist Anselm Ris is found dead in his locked office. There are no clues, no witnesses, and no murder weapon. The Scotland Yard detective leading the investigation turns to Joseph Spector—a retired magician turned detective. Spector knows how to explain the unexplainable, but even he finds this case very strange. After interrogating the psychiatrist's patients and household members, he uncovers their dark secrets, each of which could be a motive for the crime. When a second mysterious murder occurs, this time in the elevator, the detectives realize that they must urgently stop the perpetrator.
