Adamovich, spoke about their Blockade Book — a powerful and tragic work that the writers worked on for many years, collecting and recording more than 200 stories of Leningrad survivors. 900 days of the blockade of Leningrad, which took hundreds of thousands of innocent lives – the lives of women, the elderly, and children. The heroism of some residents, who toiled and fought in truly inhuman conditions, — and the vile looting of others, who bought the last valuables of the starving for bread and cereals. The terrible winter of 1942, when entire families perished from hunger, — and the New Year trees, on which the children of Leningrad miraculously managed to have tangerines delivered via the Road of Life...
