Antosha Chekhonte is the literary pseudonym of the great Russian writer and playwright Anton Pavlovich Chekhov. He used this name to sign some of his humorous stories and feuilletons to amuse and intrigue the reader.

In his stories, Chekhov depicted a world that is both funny and sad. He ridiculed human flaws such as hypocrisy or servility, but he never imposed his point of view, allowing the reader to draw their own conclusions. Chekhov's humor entertains and touches the heart.
