Once, the Deities ruled the Continent, and thus the entire world, while Saipur was merely an oppressed colony, deprived of divine grace. But in the absence of wonders, the Saipurans took the technological path of development and as a result not only toppled the continental authority but also killed almost all the Deities, plunging the mainland into chaos. Everything created by the Deities has disappeared, cities lie in ruins, local residents are forbidden to study their own history and to conduct religious rituals. When a Saipur historian, who was researching local legends, dies under mysterious circumstances in Mirgrad, the capital of the Continent, Shara Tivani arrives in the city. Officially, she is just an ordinary cultural ambassador, but in reality, she is one of Saipur's most experienced spies. Her task is to find the killer, but soon she realizes that the stakes in this matter are higher than ever, that in Mirgrad, everything is not what it seems, real monsters lurk here, conspiracies abound, and one cannot even trust their own, while reports about the death of the Deities seem greatly exaggerated.
