FANTASY-DETECTIVE ABOUT A SEAMSTRESS WHO FINDS HERSELF IN THE EPICENTER OF A WAR BETWEEN WITCHES AND WIZARDS 1911, New York Seventeen-year-old Frances Hallowell works as a seamstress and mourns her brother, who died mysteriously several months ago. Everything changes abruptly when her boss attacks her. Frances does not understand how his corpse with scissors sticking out of his neck ends up at her feet… The police barely have time to accuse Frances of murder: two nurses arrive to take her to the Coldstan sanatorium – supposedly because she is terribly ill. However, it soon becomes clear that this is no sanatorium at all, but an academy for witches. The principal warns the newly minted student about how dangerous powerful magic is, but Frances is not interested in the simple spells taught at the academy.
