Bride by Photograph

Would you be able to marry a person you have never seen? In 1910, three Korean women embark on a fateful journey to Hawaii: they decide to marry after seeing only photographs of their prospective husbands.

Each of these women faces... a different fate. Dreaming of marriage, Hong Joo meets a man who looks twenty years older than his photograph; Song-hwa, who wants to avoid reproach and mockery, meets a lazy drunkard. And then there is Willow, whose 26-year-old fiancé Taewan looks exactly as he does in the photograph…

Real life doesn't always resemble a picture, but there is no way back. And although everything turns out to be not quite what they hoped for, the girls find what makes their journey happy — each other.
