The Golden Scarab

In the novel "The Golden Scarab," the story of the Stroganov family is traced. Peter the Great did not particularly like the titled nobility and gave the Stroganovs, these energetic, active, talented people, his designation - "distinguished people." In the... Urals, there were two such families, the Stroganovs and the Demidovs. This text will discuss these surnames, whose representatives left a significant mark in history. However, history is capricious, fickle, and changeable: it sometimes loves some and despises others, sometimes chooses completely unknown people as "heroes" and elevates them to a pedestal; it holds them in a high place - and then casts them into oblivion.
In this book, the author also follows the line of the Stroganovs and Demidovs by researching the fate of an ordinary Russian family, its representatives - the Sмерtiны, Созоновы, Кашиных.
