Dead Man on the Beach

A dead director of an orphanage has been found on Amrum, a small northern island. The local police presume a natural cause of death, but the autopsy revealed that he was murdered. Chief Inspector Lena Lorenzen is surprised that her... boss Varnke is assigning this case to her, as he previously removed her from the special investigative commission and submitted a request to demote her. Lena, who was born and raised on Amrum and left the island fourteen years ago, is forced to dive into unpleasant memories associated with this place. The investigation entrusted to her turns out to be complicated. Not only individuals from the deceased's close circle come under suspicion, but also well-known figures. Only gradually does Lena understand why her boss sent her to Amrum.
