A Door to Mathematics. An Engaging Club for 3rd-4th Graders

In this book, we present an author's approach and method for conducting engaging mathematical classes (clubs). We offer specially designed materials in the form of sets of tasks aimed at children approximately 9--11 years old. Each task is accompanied by... comments that describe common mistakes, typical misconceptions and difficulties, children's reactions to some tasks, as well as a series of hints, guiding and developing questions, which will help kids to independently navigate the path to solving problems. We invite you to explore our experience in conducting such clubs (for over 14 years now). The classes will allow children to approach mathematics through interest, surprise, intuition, exploration, and discovery.
The book can be useful not only for school teachers and additional education educators but also for interested parents for working with younger students.
