Australia, 1840s. Explorer Johann Foss and six of his companions embark on a deadly expedition with the ambitious goal of creating the first detailed map of the Green Continent. In Sydney, he leaves behind his beloved woman – young aristocrat Laura Trevelyan, for whom life from this moment on splits into before and after. Foss knew that it would be a difficult, exhausting journey. Through the waterless, scorching desert, where every drop of water is a treasure, and later – under torrential rains in the oppressive silence of the hostile Australian bush, across the territories of the Aboriginal people, who consider white newcomers their legitimate prey. He knew all this, but he could not even imagine how all these hardships would change the participants of the expedition, including himself. Fury builds up in people's souls, and a rebellion is brewing in the camp...
