Matilda

Matilda is a small and very smart girl. Very, very smart. She learned to read by herself at three years old and loves books more than anything in the world. And not just any children's fairy tales, but Dickens, Hemingway, Steinbeck, and Kipling. Unfortunately, this is not at all to the taste of her parents, two rather unpleasant individuals who would prefer that she watched, like them, silly shows on television. And at school, little Matilda faces troubles because the principal of the institution hates children and cruelly tortures them. But fortunately, Matilda's teacher is incredibly kind to her and attentive. Moreover, Matilda suddenly discovers supernatural abilities within herself...

As in other stories by the famous Roald Dahl, in "Matilda" he mocks foolishness and narrow-mindedness and allows reason and justice to triumph over them. And he makes both children and adults laugh. Intelligent, of course, adults.
