My Policeman

In Brighton in the fifties, Tom meets Marion. He teaches her to swim in the shadow of the pier — and she falls more and more in love, thinking that this love will be enough for both of them. A few years later, Tom meets the museum curator Patrick. The new acquaintance shows him another world — glamorous and refined. Tom is a policeman, so he understands: it's safer for him to marry Marion. But what if she has to share her husband with Patrick until the lives of all three are destroyed? The novel is inspired by the life of the writer Edward Morgan Forster and his relationship with policeman Bob Buckingham. A tragic story about a love that is not destined to find a happy ending.
