Catherine - the main character of Jane Austen's novel "Northanger Abbey" - is fascinated by Gothic novels and often imagines that she lives in one of them. Therefore, the naive girl perceives everything through the lens of her fantasies, and... she sees terrifying mysteries everywhere.
