The King of Lioness is troubled by the prediction of the magical mirror — Suldrun's son will sit on the legendary throne instead of Kazmir. But Suldrun gave birth to a daughter. The king's doubts do not allow him peace, and the hapless sorcerer Wisbume is sent to uncover the secret of the princess's son. Meanwhile, the Green Pearl — the spirit of the witch Desmeia — passes from hand to hand, bringing destruction to its owners. Sorcerer Murgen and Shimrod confront the evil mage Tamurello, who lures them into a trap. Lioness and Troysinet are feverish in anticipation of a new war. King Eilas leads his troops to Southern Ulflandia — confrontations with the Skaar await him, struggles with Kazmir's spies, and searches for new love, while Princess Meduk tries to uncover the secret of her own birth.
