In 1977, Anthony Burgess wrote a script for Franco Zeffirelli's miniseries "Jesus of Nazareth" — a large-scale and ambitious attempt to portray the entire life journey of Jesus Christ. The series received several nominations for BAFTA and Emmy awards. Two... years later, Burgess adapted the script into a full-fledged novel.
