He has a stack of postcards that will help him remember who he is, where he has been, and whom he loved.  This is the premise of the novel... by Norwegian writer Turbjørn Opsahl "Paper Pilots" — a story of fictional journeys, amnesia, and love in the age of Lonely Planet travel guides.
The book is compiled from short notes about sleepless nights, Japanese paper art kirigami, padlocks, a knife that cuts flesh, blizzards and jazz, mysterious manuscripts, and those rare moments when two people can understand each other without words. This book is a true ode to postcards, forming an invisible circulation in the world and representing an unrecognized art for enthusiasts and collectors of all kinds of curiosities.
The highlight of the book is the illustrations by Svein Størksen, reflecting the narrative through associations and created in the technique of analog collage from postcards from around the world.
