Amy Ro's parents are from Korea, but she grew up in Canada. Like her seventeen-year-old peers, the girl goes to school, has fun with friends, and wonders what awaits her in the future.
Amy has lived with a very rare disease since childhood – SCEV, the Sensory Curvature of Time Syndrome. When she inhales a scent associated with a particular memory, she disappears from the present and is transported back in time to that memory. Unable to change or intervene, she can only observe her actions in the past before finding herself back in the present.
For Amy, these "jumps" are the only opportunity to see her mother again, who disappeared many years ago. But what if this same disease has trapped her mother in the past, who vanished over ten years ago?
Now, to stop being afraid to live, the girl must travel to her parents' homeland and discover the truth about her mother, father... and herself. After all, Amy's future will not arrive while the past holds her captive.
