Kvendels are a peaceful small folk living in Holmogory since the dawn of time. They love good food and take great care of their gardens. Going out at night or seeking adventures is an extremely outrageous act for any kvendel, and the grim legends of their ancestors are now nothing more than a subject of jokes at the annual Mask Festival. Bulrich Schattenbart, a self-taught cartographer, has traversed Holmogory back and forth. Only the Gloomy Forest, where no decent kvendel would venture, remains a white spot on the maps.
