The first - "Go and sin no more" - is a short novel based on the sensational case of the murder by... a Simferopol tradeswoman, Olga Palem, of her lover. The second - "Paris for three hours" - tells of the audacious conspiracy of French General Malé, who attempted to overthrow imperial power in Paris in 1812 after the defeat of Napoleon's army in Russia. The third - "Stars over the swamp" - is a factual narrative about the lives of political exiles (the late 1860s) in the wild polar wilderness: in the town of Pinega, at the border with the tundra, where flashes of new relationships between people suddenly emerge.
