"Lady Susan" is a novel in letters, telling the story of the life of the social beauty Lady Susan, a duplicitous and headstrong person. She has many concerns: to not lose the remnants of her dignity in the eyes of... society, and to successfully marry off her daughter Frederica. The heroes of the novel love and hate, suffer from jealousy and plot intrigues. The collection also includes three more novels: "Love and Friendship", "Lady Leslie", "Collection of Letters", a historical satire in the form of essays - "History of England". "Lady Leslie" is a witty parody of the clichés of "Gothic" and "early romantic" prose. A socially-psychological satire is found in "Collection of Letters". All the included novels remained unfinished, but they are no less charming than the famous works of the queen of the English novel.
