Anne of Green Gables

Lucy Maud Montgomery 1874—1942 — Canadian writer, a person of national historical significance in Canada. Author of the series of novels about Anne of Avonlea. She began writing, like her heroine, in childhood. She worked as a teacher, writing for newspapers and magazines. The most famous works of L. M. Montgomery — Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea. Many adaptations have been made based on them, the first in 1919, the last — in 2017. Anne is an orphan, a girl from an orphanage, who accidentally ends up at the home of siblings Matthew and Marilla instead of a boy who was supposed to help on the farm with his guardians. Initially, they intended to send the talkative girl back to the orphanage. But very soon Anne managed to win the hearts of the residents of Avonlea with her spontaneity. Translation by M.
