An amazing tale about a robot named Roz who ends up on a deserted island. The story begins with a shipwreck. A vessel caught in a storm sinks along with its cargo - numerous boxes containing hundreds of robots carefully...
packed. Gradually, the debris is washed ashore to an island lost in the endless waters. All the boxes smashed against the coastal rocks, but one of them survived and ended up on the beach. It was found by curious sea otters. While studying the box and playing with it, they unpacked its contents and... Snap! The robot came to life.
Roz opened her eyes and looked around. She was on the island. She didn't know how she got there, why she was there, or what to do. But she realized she needed to learn how to survive. Roz is a helper robot, capable of incredibly fast learning, analyzing, and applying her new skills. Gradually, she understands that it is very important to befriend the local inhabitants, the numerous and diverse animals. But how can she do that if they are afraid of her?
In the end, Roz was able to learn the language of the animals, find a family and friends, understand the meaning and purpose of her existence. And also... she became the best mother to a little caterpillar named Brightbeak.
